At the beginning of this year we celebrated International Women’s Day with a collection of talented ladies that are making noise in the drink industry. The event took place in our Upstairs Space and was curated by Wonderworks. With an inspiring line up of speakers they spoke about their journey so far in the drink industry and answered any questions that guests had. During the afternoon, the Carousel team provided some delicious canapes for guests to snack on along with a selection of cocktails.

First up there was the trailblazer Claire Warner, the Managing Director of Aecorn Aperitifs. Starting out as a Brand Ambassador for Belvedere Vodka, her passions quickly began leading her down the path of healthy drinks. Aka Seedlip, have you heard of it? She has now developed a new brand, Acorn Aperitifs, making delicious non alcoholic wine. Speakers also included Stephanie Jordan, former Global Brand Ambassador for Tanqueray Gin. She has now launched her own calvados brand, Availed Spirits. To round out the panel was Hannah Sharman-Cox, Founder & Managing Director of DrinkUp.London. A brand known to be the definitive list of the best bars and events in London. Through DrinkUp.London, she launched the successful drinks festival, London Cocktail Week. Needless to say, we couldn’t wait to have these kick-ass women come to Carousel for International Women’s Day.

Over the course of the afternoon we served up cocktails using Ceder’s Gin or Harris Gin with London Essence Co Tonic. Our restaurant manager, Gigi kicked off the event, chatting about Carousel and her journey in the food and drink industry. As guests mingled we served up some mouthwatering canapés made by our team. Wonderworks have put a great video together of the event, you’ll see some cameos of our wonderful staff, as well as hear some advice from some of the speakers about getting into the drink industry.
