Lol and Tommy were set on a London wedding but all the venues they looked at were a bit, well, meh. They were also eye-wateringly expensive. They wanted a stylish and contemporary venue with restaurant-quality food and friendly staff that wouldn’t cost the earth and that’s what Carousel delivered over three floors, starting with the ceremony Upstairs, moving down to the Restaurant for drinks and canapés and ending up Downstairs for a 100-person banquet and dancing “til late”.
Simmi and Richard selected Carousel for their wedding reception because they could hire the Upstairs space for their intimate wedding breakfast for 20 close family members and then move Downstairs to welcome 100+ more friends and family members for their drinks reception, canapés and dancing. Our chefs were happy to create a bespoke menu that took inspiration from the Bride’s Indian and Groom’s British heritages. Younger members of the wedding party were kept entertained in our sunny, south- facing garden where one of our chefs taught the children how to make pizzas!
When Alex and James invited us to cook for their big day, we leapt at the chance, working with them closely to develop a killer three-course wedding breakfast featuring charcoal-grilled sirloin of beef served with sides of salt baked beetroot; purple sprouting broccoli with ajo blanco; and cos lettuce with candied walnuts, pecorino and mustard dressing. All cooked and served offsite. We staffed the whole event and were also on hand to get the party started with bespoke cocktails created especially for the happy occasion.
